This will be the last game for Elie Aiboy in Selangor famous red yellow jersey. He is saving the best for last. He would like to cement the Malaysia Cup to his medal tally after he helped Selangor to be the first team with treble success in 2005.
Elie, who started his career with Semen Padang in the Indonesia League in 2001 before joining Presija Jakarta, is hoping he will end his playing stint in Malaysia by helping Selangor win the Malaysia Cup on Saturday.
"For me, Selangor are the best team in the league, as the players here are talented. So, we hope to be able to overcome Kedah in the Malaysia Cup final," said the 28-year-old.
Elie was spotted by Peter Withe, who coached Indonesia and Thailand, had commented that Elie is one of the best attacking midfielders in the Asean region.
Indeed Elie with his speed, skill and ball distribution, has helped revive Selangor's fortunes. He can trouble any opponent's defence.
Elie still haunted with the FA Cup lost against Kedah this season. "Kedah have a solid defence. We came close to beating them in the FA Cup but eventually lost 3-2. This time, the players are motivated and I think we will be able to suprise them," added Elie, who is hoping the fans will turn up to support the team and boost the players' spirits.
