At Darul Aman Stadium, controversial Kedah striker Marlon Alex James netted hatrick (3 goals) to help Kedah move to the next round as a group B champion. While another talented Chilean, Nelson Sam Martin level the score for Kedah after the home team is taken by surprised lead by Johor FC. It was Johor FC striker, Gustavo Fuentes who takes the fame after two minutes by rounding national goalkeeper Helmi Eliza to mark the lead for Johor FC. However Kedah did not give up and manage to balance the score before half time break through Nelson Sam Martin.

Second half started, it was Kedah turn to take Johor FC by surprised after great cross from defender, Shafizan Hasim found Marlon who headed in Kedah second goal for the night. Marlon continue to show his enthusiasm and professionalism to honour his remaining contract by netting his second goals. Again it was a great combination between Shafizan Hashim and Marlon Alex James to beat Johor FC goalkeeper. Four minutes before the match end, Marlon against take the lime light with a superb jerk from his right food to ended the match with 4-1 score line.

Kedah now step closer to defend their Malaysia Cup title and they will meet their fierce rival Perak at quarter finals. Meanwhile FAM has announced their decision to ban import player for next season. I disagree with FAM decision and I will post out why taking out import player from Malaysia League will not help improving our local football standard.
