Despite the defeat at the Sultan Mizan Stadium is not a major concern for Kedah coach Azraai Khor. He look cool, and confident that the treble dream was still on track.
Triumph in Saturday’s final at the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil would hand the Canaries an historic double treble. Last season’s treble champions have successfully defended the Super League and FA Cup titles.
Going to final, Kedah received good news from national midfielder Ahmad Fauzi Saari who returned to full fitness after a long injury layoff.
This Saturday’s meeting with Selangor will be the two teams’ second Cup final meeting this season.
Kedah edged the Red Giants 3-2 in an exciting FA Cup final in June.
Said Azraai: “A Cup final between the two best supported teams in the country is always an exciting affair. Kedah have been the most consistent side all season while Selangor are one of the most entertaining teams this year. I expect another close encounter this weekend.”
Kedah are in quest of a fourth Malaysia Cup title while Selangor are looking to lift the trophy for a record 33rd time.
