If you age under 20, talented and passion in football, UPB MyTeam FC is looking for you!
Due to FAM’s recent ruling of annulling the Youth Cup (Piala Belia), and lowering the age of President’s Cup eligibility to Under-20, last years semi-finalists MyTeam find themselves in a huge problem with regards to obtaining players. The change of FAM’s policies has left the Teluk Intan based team with only 4 players from their existing squad.
Jacob said that left them with only four players from the previous squad and they would now have to rope in another 17 players.
The new guidelines indicate that each team must register at least 8 players who are born in 1989, 8 in 1990 and 9 players in 1991.
The club side, who were semi-finalists last year, are left in a lurch following the decision by the FA of Malaysia (FAM) to scrap the Youth Cup (Under-17) tournament and lower the age of the President’s Cup from Under-21 to Under-20.
Scarlet Army’s President’s Cup coach Jacob Joseph will be looking for a minimum of 21 players during the selections. The trials are open to all players but they must be born in or after 1989 to attend and are required to bring their Identity Card (I/C).
The selections will be held on Saturday and Sunday, November 1 and 2, with registration beginning from 8-10am at MSN Bukit Jalil, Padang-C (opposite Bukit Jalil Sports School)
