Finally, M. Karathu appointed as Perak head coach to replace Steve Darby who left Perak to become Peter Reid assistant for Thailand national squad. Raja Azlan Shah Raja Shoib appointed as his assistant.
After Perak Chief Minister, Mohammad Nizar agree to take the president post for Perak Football Association (PFA) the state football team can sigh relief. After having difficult season last year with payment and salary, PFA can expect better expenses this year with the help from state government.
Senior player departure like Hamsani Ahmad, Nasril Nourdin, Chan Win Hong, K. Nanthakumar, Azlan Zainal, Hardi Jaafar, Khalid Jamlus and Shahrulnizam Mustaffa have open opportunity for young player to represent Perak. It will take sometime for youngsters to get mature and experience, but I confidence they can stay up in Malaysia Super League for next season.
Perak only have three senior players to guide the youngsters which are Megat Amir Faisal, S. Subramaniam, and Razali Umar Kandasamy. For the record, M. Karathu is the man who behind Perak success to win the FA cup in 1990.
Welcome back M. Karathu to Malaysia football scene. Good luck!
