We need to change - Lim Teong Kim

I read this news at NST, and i agree with the points bring by our own Malaysian who is successful at Bayern Munich. I am hoping, one day Lime Teong Kim will be back to help Malaysia as our Technical Director and our state FA to set the good infrastructure for our young talents. Read below...

FORMER international Lim Teong Kim, a member of 1989 Sea Games squad that won the gold, is not surprised with the situation of Malaysian football.
However, the Bayern Munich Under-19 coach is confident Malaysia can return to its glory days provided people in the State FA's are willing to change.

Teong Kim, who spent nine years with Bayern Munich's Under-19 squad and had just signed another year's contract, believes success will come by only with change.

"How can people talk about football, when there is no infrastructure. We are in the football training business, so proper training centres must be established for players for training.

"You cannot play football if there are no football fields," said the Malacca-born who is back in Malaysia for a holiday.

"Bayern Munich are the top club in Germany. We have very good infrastructure - five training fields and more coming up soon,"
said Teong Kim.

"We have complete infrastructure to cater for the professional team and also the youth teams. In fact, we have 11 youth teams in age-groups between eight and 23.

"The other clubs in the Bundesliga also have similar set-ups," he said

Teong Kim added that all over Europe the same concept applies. Japan and Korea are doing what the Europeans are doing, and that is why football is growing in those two countries.

"We must check the rot in the system. I left Malacca 20 years ago and football in the state is no better now because people in the football business are not ready for change," Teong Kim said.

"Why criticise the present batch of players and keep blaming them for failures when no one cares for the development of the game?".

He added, "In Bayern Munich, their eight-year-old players travel extensively to play in invitational tournaments to gain experience. There are eight professional coaches at the youth level and players get plenty of exposure."

It is about time that we call back our exports to trade their experience here. Instead of paying foreigners who don't know head and tail of Malaysian football, Teong Kim is a much better bet to improve Malaysian football's life.
And, call that juggling footballer Titus James to play for Malaysia..at least he can do the half-times circus for free...
