K Rajagopal take over Malaysia U23?

If you dreaming of FAM hiring the foreign coach to guide Malaysia under 23 squad, you need to wait longer. FAM might continue their policy by hiring local coach for quite sometime. This round, it was Malaysia under 19 head coach, K. Rajagopal under the radar. If appoint, his first official task will be this year SEA Games at Laos in December where Malaysia last win is in 1989.

The blessing for Rajagopal to toke over the job made by the technical sub-committee the FA of Malaysia produced following the senior team's crash to make the Asean Championship semi-finals last month. The committee agreed the job should be given to local who know the players well.

K. Rajagopal who guiding Malaysia under 19 for past two years expects to vacant his post to focus on the under 23 squad.

When this position opens last month, 10 applicants applied for the post. Among the notable candidates are former Thailand and Indonesia national coach, Peter Withe and UPB MyTeam head coach, Bojan Hodak.
