With exclusion of Helmi Heliza as national number 1 goalkeeper, Syamsuri Mustaffa who representing MyTeam called upon as replacement together with Perlis goalkeeper, Farliza Marlias. In term of experience, no doubt Syamsuri Mustaffa is the automatic choice as Sathia preferred experienced player. But for me Farliza Marlias should be given the opportunity with his impressive performance in Malaysia Super League. His performance is outstanding especially against Penang. He has a good reflex and positioning.

DF – Fauzi Nan, V. Thirumurugan, Shafizan Hashim, S. Subramaniam, Norhafiz Zamani, Khaironisam Shabudin, Aidil Zafuan, Daudsu Jamaluddin, Rosdi Talib.

Traditionally, Malaysia will play four defenders at their backline. Seeing Malaysia matches under B. Sathianathan, only two tactics is played which is 4-4-2 or 4-5-1. In my opinion, Malaysia don’t have much problem in their backline. With Irwan Fadli out for Asia Cup 2011 qualifier, it will be either Shafizan Hashim or Rosdi Talib filling the left back role. I believe it will not be any changes with Daudsu on the right back, Aidil and Norhafiz as the center back. B. Sathianthan has good coverage in defence department where V. Thirumurugan can replace Daudsu anytime. Same goes to B. Subramaniam and Khaironnisam to be ready as center back replacement.

MF- Marzuki Yusof, Badrol Bakhtiar, Kyril Muhaimeen, Hardi Jaafar, Amirul Hadi, Fadzli Shaari, Shukor Adan, Indra Putra, Ashaari Samsuddin, Hairuddin Omar.

Midfield will be a key point to determine Malaysia success to win or lose again UAE. If they can work as a team and creating chances for striker, we can win the match. I will be a bit worried with Shukor Adan injury since he is the only player can play defensive midfielder roles if B. Sathianathan opt to play 4-5-1. That’s why you can see Marzuki Yusof is surprise call for national camp. It will be risky to put Marzuki Yusof as the first eleven since he haven’t play for Malaysia for quite some time. Seeing the list of our midfielders, we have lot of winger and attacking midfielder. If Shukor out, we will play 4-4-2 for sure. B. Sathianathan will prefer Amirul Hadi as right winger and Indra on right, Hardi in the center with Hairuddin playing as attacking midfielder.

But my personal view is Malaysia should use the pace of our young winger. We have Amirul Hadi, Badrol Bakhtiar, Kyril Muhaimeen and Ashaari Samsuddin. Based on experience, it will be Amirul and Kyril as the winger, and push Indra into attacking midfielder role and Hardi in the center.

ST – Safee Sali, Zaquan Adha, Norfarhan Mohamad, Norsharul Idlan Talaha, Nizaruddin Yusof.

As usual, Sathia will prefer Safee and Zaquan combination to score goal. There is no outstading striker in the team compare to Zaquan and Safee. Malaysia striker need to use every opportunity given if they want to win the match.
