VS

Chonburi FC opened their AFC Cup 2009 campaign with excellent form by crashing Hong Kong side, Eastern Athletic 4-1 in front of their home supporters last week. Tonight, Chonburi FC coming down to Darul Aman Stadium to play their second match again double treble winner, Kedah who suffer inconsistent form this season after departure of their foreign players.

To compare these two sides in their league, Chonburi FC currently as number two positions behind Muang Thong United losing on goal different while Kedah sitting in the 7th position in Malaysia Super League.

In term of experience, Choburi FC look better in the paper after playing in Asian Champion League last season. Chonburi FC who coach by famous Kiatisuk Senamuang who one time known as Asian ‘Zico’ have better sides having at least seven national players in their team.

Ex-Manchester City players, Suree Sukha and Kiatprawut Saiwaeo expecting to play at Darul Aman Stadium with at least three of their four import players based on AFC regulations in AFC Cup competition that each team only can have three foreigners in their team. Brazilian, Anderson and Douglas and Kone Mohamed from Ivory Coast rumours to play in tonight match resting their Japanese defender, Yoshiaki Maruyama.

People might think that Kedah has nothing to offer in tonight match with draw might be the best result that Kedah can achieve. But Kedah should go in with the right mentality to take advantage on Chonburi FC that I am sure is overconfident in their second match after winning big in the first match and seeing Kedah lost 3-1 to Hanoi ABC in Vietnam.

Malaysia newspaper reported that Kedah will be playing without Farizal Rozali and Saramsak Kram while Ahmad Fauzi Shaari and Fadly Baharum are doubtful for this match.

My first eleven choices:

V. Thirumurgan - Fazliata Taib - A. Victor – Shafizan Hashim
