Original Post

About 2 weeks ago, I received an email from someone from FAM that looking forward to get hold of Wan Kuzain family in looking for some sponsorship or partnership program in helping him to raise his standard as football player and also helping FAM in reviving Malaysia football standard that become mockery of the century.

I have tried to send a message to his step brother in Malaysia, but I didn’t get any response from him. I also sent a message to original uploader for the Wan Kuzain video at youtube, but again I don’t receive any response. :(

So I am writing this post to all Malaysian out there who might want to help us to track this kid down and who know this kid might have something to offer to the country. If anyone of you knows how FAM can contact Wan Kuzain family in the United States, you might want to drop an email to wnizar [at] gmail.com

According to Wan Nizar, some time ago Malaysia under 16 developed a partnership program with Zikri Alias who is staying in London and play under Stevenage FC to don national under 16 jerseys. Zikri Alias also been sponsored to play in Under 18 league last year.

So Wan Kuzain, where are you?

This is certainly an important one for Malaysian football... FAM should take this chance to really improve the standard of our national football...

I’m a fan of bolatoday.com and I’m a fan of Wan Kuzain…God knows, we finally have something to be excited by the news I’m all for it -I’m so happy and thrilled by the news. Thank You to John Jenin and FAM for doing a wonderful first step toward the future of Malaysian Football. He is amazing cute kid with a good ball handling and well rounded skills. The ball handling and skills needed to make a well-rounded, world-class soccer player.

I am a youth football coach currently residing in Shanghai coaching foreign kids. Have to say Wan Kuzain is exceptional. I have my buddy, a football agent looking at his video, here is his comment

1)he looks to be very good for his age

2)he was flying by guys on the speed dribble
not out of this world but very good

3)from the tape he would have been one of the best 10 year old i have recently seen in US

4)being a good 11 year old and being a pro have very little to do with each other, most people who are the best players at that age dont make it too much positive reinforcement too early affects their intrinsic motivation

    5) EXAMPLE : Freddy adu was unreal at 14
out of this world, now he cant get a game

    6) its fine to be good at that age of course, but if the media gets a hold of it, game over, kids cant handle it psychologically

Thanks everyone for commenting about Wan Kuzain. Your encouragement might help him to succeed his dream as a professional football player.

Coach Hazwan, i read your blog. Thanks for dropping by :) I really agree on your comment especially on the Freddy Adu part. He was a big hit when he was 14. But too much publicity just kill his career i think. All the best to you in Shanghai.

Are we just waiting for miracle from a kid? Instead of waiting for a miracle, why can't we be more aggressive of switching the FAM management? Change the football developent system?? start from the grassroot?? It's more effective and efficient in developing 10 kids with passion and great development system rather than depending only to 1 wonderkid. For the record,it seems like US system had built our wonderkid into little wizard. It's better for him to play for US (num 4 world rank);)

I am going to agree with a lot of you, but putting hopes on one kid is not going to do anything for anybody, especially the boy. What needs to happen is a reboot and a serious look at how the FAM can function effectively. We have plenty of talent. I remember playing in the field near my house and how everyone wanted to be Cantona, and some could have. But what value does being a football player in Malaysia have. People will make good decisions if there was a good system. Not the corrupt bureaucracy and aristocracy that exists today. I say leave the boy alone. Let him play football and love it because it is the beautiful game. When he is mature enough and sees the worth of being a Tiger, he will come back and give it everything. Groom to become some sort of superstar now and you set everyone up for a disappointment. Especially him.
