Kedah vs Penang - Part 1

The match starts with Kedah dominating the game. In mission to get Kedah first goal, misjudgment between Khyril Muhaimeen and Nelson San Martin let the possession lost to Penang import player, Pedro Alexis who cleverly chip the ball to Amir Shahrin Mubin who crossed brilliantly to let Farizal Rozali to tap in Penang first goal.



Kedah received their wake up call after Penang first goal. Kedah increase their attacking display to level the score. But 10 minutes later, Farizal Rozali again breaks Kedah defense. His powerful shot parry by Kedah goalkeeper, Abdul Hadi hit straight to V. Thirumurugan for Penang second goal and silence the home fans.



Down to two goals, more man push forward for Kedah. Kedah best effort come from Khyril Muhaimeen for his powerful shot that wide to Penang right goal. In 26th minutes, Penang player Azizul Ahmad Basri given yellow card after his foot raise high and hit Badrul Bakhtiar face. Kedah consistency in attacking should be rewarded with penalty after Penang defender clear obstructing Badrul Bakhtiar in penalty box, but referee deny Kedah chance.



In 32th minutes, Kedah effort fruitful after long pass from Badrul Bakhtiar met Fadly Baharom who tap the ball passed Penang goalkeeper in one on one situation.



4 minutes after Kedah first goal, Penang goal scorer, Farizal Rozali stupid action has earned him red card. His action to slap, kick and push Kedah captain, A Victor should be punished by FAM for his unprofessional behavior. But the question is even A Victor didn't react on Farizal attack, referee gave him yellow card. Bad refereeing has welcome anger from Kedah bench where Azraai stand up to get referee explanation on action taken to his player. You can see clearly how Ahmad Sobri showing his upset on standard of refereeing by smashing the water bottle to the field.



Before half time take place, Badrul Bakhtiar connection with Fadly Baharom level the score for Kedah. Badrul Bakhtiar cross failed to be catch by Penang goalkeeper which allowing Fadly Baharom to blast the ball to net his 7th goals in Malaysia Cup and his 2nd goal for the night.



The match resulted 2-2 at half time.
