As everyone read from the newspaper today, all Kedahan still in disbelief that Marlon handing transfer request to leave Kedah before FAM announce their decision on 2nd of August. FAM still in mid of discussion on should they allow foreign player for next season after few teams goes into debt after failed to pay their player salary. One of the reason given is high maintenance of foreign player.
According to Marlon Alex James, he getting two years contract offer from an MLS club which is San Jose Earhquake. Below is the transcript of Marlon Alex James interview with ESPN Sportcenter.
"Yes I requested I want to leave as soon as possible…ok… because I got offer from MLS club which is San Jose. The main why I want to leave is because of Azraai Khor. Because of his statement that he made in the Super. He is supporting the FAM. At this moment he don’t need foreign player."
"This is not that I want to leave Kedah. But because of my future. I’m not getting younger. I’m gonna be 32 next year. I have a family. I have a young family. I need to get an opportunity to play in the MLS. It’s definitely better to play in the risen continent football at the moment. Its definitely I would like to be out of this seasonal."
Marlon denied he going to the press before talking to the management regarding his transfer. Below is his explaination.
"I didn’t get any good defense by coach. If I want a good defense I would testify to go to the manager. And before I talk to him. I did talk to him about this. Exactly I would like to leave as soon as possible. If I don’t leave here now im gonna be jobless for the next two year"
The question that playing into everyone mind is why Marlon need to hand transfer request since his contract end on 31st of August which will be due in one month. This is the reason that I believe why Marlon want to leave Kedah as soon as possible:
MLS Transfer season for summer will ended on 15 of August. So if San Jose Earthquake would like to register Marlon Alex James during the transfer window, they need to compensate Kedah because Kedah own Marlon Alex James until 31st of August.
If Marlon wait until he is out of contract, he still can be register as San Jose Earthquake player, but he only can play for San Jose Earthquake after 1st January 2009.
The question is would San Jose Earthquake compensate Kedah for Marlon Alex James?
Or Marlon Alex James knows that San Jose Earthquake will turn into other player because he can’t play for them until 1st of January 2009?
Or he know he can demand more for his salary if he going to MLS for free?
Or he worried that San Jose Earthquake will fed up waiting for him?

i dont know what to say, looks like its like a dream come true to him. When the fact he stated 'good defense' from the manager, what else we could think? The usual culprit is doing his shit again before stepping down soon..this is the time the culprit feel he can do 'something good' again for him before he leaves..
if marlon really wants to go,as well as hugging,i bet they will miss kedah on top of their other destinations in the world..so does any 'pure soccer heart' man ever really wants to play in an empty stadium?
when marlon should go, i think it will be almost perfect time if akmal rizal would be fit enough to make a comeback..or give chances to more young players..
same goes to hugging, khairul helmi,sabri abu,fazliata should be ready to fill the gap..

I agreed with mohd comment on the real culprit behind football scene. I hope we will have better manager next year to continue Kedah legacy left by arwah DAB.
