Former Terengganu midfielder and caretaker coach Mohd Nik who previously was deputy for Yunus Alif tipped to replace Yunus Alif as the new coach of the Terengganu Super League team.
Terengganu Football Association (TFA) vice president Sheikh Tajudin Syeikh Yusoff Mohd Nik said Mohd Nik is seen as the most likely contender after guiding Terengganu to the semi-finals after Yunus quit halfway through their Malaysia Cup battle.
“He took over the ruins and did not disappoint us ... but to date there has been no discussion yet on the matter. However, we will bring it up during our council meeting next week,” he said yesterday. Yunus’ two-year contract will be up at the end this year.
Yunus Alif hinted he might not be in Terengganu for next season since his wife is moving to Kuala Lumpur.
Sheikh Tajudin added that auditions will be carry out at the Sultan Ismail Nasirudin Shah Stadium after Hari Raya to tie in players for the new season
