When Malaysia beat Myanmar 3-1 in last year Merdeka Cup tournament, Malaysia only used three senior players where the squad mainly feature by under 23 players. But for tomorrow semi final against the same opponent, Malaysia will be line up by more experienced players.

Malaysia head coach, B. Sathianathan reckons that experience is crucial at this stage in order for Malaysia to retain the Merdeka Cup. He added that senior players have proved their worth when given the opportunity.

Sathianathan who hang on to Mohd Shukor Adan and Norhafiz Zamani Misbah from the 2007 squad, tie in Hairuddin Omar, Irwan Fadzli Idrus, Nizaruddin Yusuf and Mohd Hardi Jaafar.
