Have you ever think that talented football players from Brazil will hold friendly match with our local football team? When I first read that Brazil is coming down to Malaysia to play against Kedah, I was shock. I admit that people who writing the piece of news must be crazy
Actually is true. But wait… Stop your imagination the players like Ronaldinho, Kaka or Robinho will play in the match. Actually the Brazil team will represent by bunch of player that represent Brazil in World Cup 1994, and 1998.
The Brazilians are on tour in our region to raise funds for the aid and rejuvenation of projects for the victims of Cyclone Nargis in Myanmar. The tour named as South East Asia Tour of Hope.
Among the famous stars in Brazil’s squad are 1994 World Cup winner Paulo Sergio, Giovanni, Ze Carlos, Emerson and Silvao. Before stopping at Malaysia to play against Kedah, they were unbeaten in their four matches on the tour. 4-0 win and 1-1 draw against Myanmar, 2-0 win against Vietnam and beat Thai Selection XI 4-1.
After winning three cups in two season, Kedah deserve to play against this team. Even its just a friendly match, it will benefits our local players in term of exposure and confidence. The match will be played this Friday at Darul Aman Stadium at 8:45PM. We are hoping that Kedah supporters will come over to the stadium and support their team in their pre-season workout.
Kedah expected to unleashed their new four players, strikers Mohd Azrul Ahmad and Farizal Rozali (ex-Penang), and midfielders Sharulnizam Mustapha (ex-Perak) and Mohd Afif Amiruddin (ex-Police).
But Kedah will be exclusive of first choice goalkeeper Mohd Helmi Eliza and Mohd Khyril Muhymeen, who are both away on national duty.
