Selangor start the 2009 Super League season in style lifting the Sultan Ahmad Shah Cup after beating Kedah 4-1 in the charity match at Stadium Darulaman, Alor Star.
The new Selangor squad coached ex Kuala Muda Naza, K.Devan opened accounts as early as the fourth minute when a free-kick taken by skipper Mohd Amri Yahyah.
Kedah, the double triple champion, were clearly dull on home ground when Mohd Zameer Zainol scored Selangor's second goal in the 32nd minute before Mohd Amri again found the Kedah net in the 33rd minute.
The visitors continued to dominate when national striker Mohd Safee Sali netted Selangor's fourth goal in the 58th minute while Kedah's single goal came one minute before the final whistle through Mohd Khyril Muhayameen Zambri.
