When I turn on my Astro, one thing will pop up in my mind. How grateful and lucky I am to have Astro now compared to last 15 years ago. I remembered that there are only 3 channels available when I switched on the TV in the early 90’s. Not much coverage available on our local football and my favorite English Premier League. Just one hour football highlight program available once a week. But now, you can watch live football matches, analysis, highlight on your Astro easily. Talking about Astro, I really enjoy watching the advertisement. Starting with pakcik Macam-macam Ada and now Tok Wan.

Tok Wan in 2007

Last time, when Tok Wan made her first appearance in her first Astro advertisement talking about iguana, singing Hindi song with correct pitch, and introducing ‘Ulam’ as salad toher visiting family, Tok Wan set stormed in Malaysia capturing all Malaysian heart. Now Tok Wan is back! Though the name Tok Wan is commonly used for grandfather instead of grandmother in the northern region. But it’s not a big deal. She is just adorable and lovely!

This round, Tok Wan is back to rock Malaysians with her intelligence and informative talk in her latest advertisement called ‘Sarang Tebuan’ that is recorded at Tok Wan food stall or better known as ‘warung’. The message conveyed in the latest Tok Wan advertisement remains the same is to emphasize on “It’s possible when you have everything!”

A lot of thing you will learn with Astro

In the second advertisement, Astro still sticks with Tok Wan and cute Alycia as their main characters but the new advertisement is more hilarious. You can see a lot of funny incidents happening in warung Tok Wan that will bring you laughter. Each incident that happened in the advertisement, Tok Wan tackle it with nice fact and she just knows everything! With Astro, Tok Wan picks up more information and knowledge whether in entertainment, lifestyle, learning, news, and even sports.

And guess what. Tok Wan is the calmest Manchester United supporter. She just knows the result of Tevez penalty kick in the football match shown on Astro at her warung even she needed to turn off the main switch as precaution step for her electrician.

Hi, I am the Bee Hive lady

But a new character introduced in the latest advertisement which is the ‘bee hive’ lady or ‘gadis sarang tebuan’ definitely stole the limelight in this TVC. The ‘bee hive’ lady gorgeously dressed in Saloma outfit and speak Bahasa Malaysia in English accent ordering Italian food. But Tok Wan knows Italian food better than the lady. May be Tok Wan watch too much Travel and Living channel at Astro kot. Hehehe
