GOOD

  • Farizal Marlias is Malaysia no 1 goal keeper at the moment. Despite conceding three goals, his performance was excellent and confidence.
  • Amri Yahyah hard to die attitude is exemplary to our youngster. He is chasing the ball everywhere on the field. He deserves the two goals for last night match. His optimisticism to caught Van Der Sar out of position is unbelievable.
  • I like K. Rajagopal 4-2-3-1 formation. Getting Safiq Rahim and Amar Rohidan as our defensive midfielder is a good choice against strong opponent.
  • Congratulation to supporters of Harimau Malaya for the continuous effort to support our national team even we are outplay by ‘Manchester United’ supporters in our own land.
  • I am hoping V. Thirumurugan will play on the second match tomorrow. Malaysia needs a defender who is able to overlap like what Thiru have done in the second match against Zimbabwe.
  • We are not playing long passing ball which I like. We try to control our possession as much as we could but we need to avoid poor passing in the second match.
  • If you notice we have utility player in this squad. Sabree Abu can play as the right back and last night in as a midfielder. Bunyamin Omar who is a midfielder come in to step into Norhafiz Zamani shoes.

BAD

  • We need to improve our poor first touch and passing.
  • Our striker and midfielder tend to move into the center when attacking causing confusion between Amri, Indra and Zaquan Adha. Sometimes we need to play the ball wide and utilizing our pacey winger to move the ball into the box.
  • S. Kunalan failed to impress on our right hand side. K. Rajagopal should replace him earlier with Amirul Hadi or Khyril Muhaimeen.
  • We are still conceding soft goal.
  • We need to get our striker into the penalty box. Against Manchester United, we are trying to beat Van Der Sar and Ben Foster from the long range shot. We are lucky that Van Der Sar and Ben Foster is not on their top form last night.
  • In the second match, K. Rajagopal should rest Zaquan Adha due to his injury. Let Norshahrul Idlan Talaha play upfront or move Indra as the lone striker.
  • It was sad to see Malaysian cheering for Manchester United and not our national team.
I am hoping tomorrow crowd able to sing "Malaysia Boleh" or "Inilah Barisan Kita" song instead of "Glory Glory Man Utd" song.

Tomorrow will definitely be a difficult match. Sir Alex Ferguson for sure want his team to restore their pride by demolishing Malaysia. For Malaysia squad, dont be over the moon and work hard.

i hope syed adney will get the chance to play in goal for the 2nd match...

what about trying the safiq and bunyamin combo in midfield??i prefer bunyamin than amar rohidan as our midfield anchor...

honest to god i hope that amri doesn't play in the second game because we the Merah Kuning brigade need him to be 100% when we face PDRM on tuesday...

    GombakRock,
I dont know why,but i dont have confidence with Syed Adney. I saw him play replacing Helmi Eliza in the SEA Games last year, his positioning and reflex is not up to standard. K. Rajagopal should stick with Farizal. Statistics proved that Perlis conceded among the lowest goal in the league.

About Bunyamin, he is good. but his cant play for the full 90 minutes. But i can assure that he will play some part tonight but not for 90 minutes.

And come on bro, Selangor meeting the lowest team in MSL. You guys are good enough to beat them without Amri. ;)

    JohnJenin,
I'm not denying the fact that farizal is performing very well at the moment... however a keeper of his physique do have physical limitations...basically this is our sea-games squad...it doesn't hurt to give other players a chance to show what they can offer to the team...

syed adney has the potential to be a great goalkeeper...the major difference between him and farizal is that for the past 2 seasons farizal is the number 1 for perlis.
if syed adney can play first team football week in week out he will be as good as khairul azman in goal!!

FAM should decline man yoo offer for a 2nd game...they should focus on the domestic league...we are already taking an impromptu break just to accommodate man yoo... Mind you that FAM stands for Football Association of Malaysia not football association of manchester...even if our lads thumped man yoo 6-0 it wouldn't boost our international rankings cause this is not an INTERNTIONAL FRIENDLY...this is just an EXHIBITION match...a mere pr stunt..
