Phew, I am glad to hear the news that Malaysia League format for next season will remain the same as what we have had in 2009. Just we might see another squad from FAM which I believe for players between 19 to 21 years old to compete in Malaysia Super League next season. And FAM decided retaining Harimau Muda team for players under 19 years old in the Malaysia Premier League.
At the moment, FAM announces there will be 15 teams in Malaysia Super League 2010. But I prefer to see even number of teams in Malaysia Super League so there will be no team resting every week like what happen in 2008. And having 15 teams in a league is not an ideal number as what has been suggested by FIFA even though there is nothing wrong with it. So I predicting that if FAM wants to have 16 teams in Malaysia Super League, FAM just need to relegate PDRM who is at the bottom of Malaysia Super League 2009 or we should wait on the number of teams who can afford to fulfill FAM criteria for Malaysia Super League 2010.
FAM decided to tighten the procedure for any teams who want to compete in Malaysia League to provide details of their financial and to solve any payment delay to the player and Employees Provident Fund (EPF) before 30th November 2009 to make them eligible to register their 2010 squad on 14th October 2009.
Team competing in Malaysia Super League need to deposit RM 150,000, Malaysia Premier league RM100,000, and FAM League RM30,000.
Meanwhile, team competing in Malaysia Premier League will be allowed to register a minimum 10 professional players and will not be required to field a team in the President's Cup. So we will see some of semi-pro players to play in Malaysia Premier League.
